Aliya was born in Northern New Mexico to parents who converted to Islam in 1969. In her youth, Aliya had the opportunity to travel and live in different communities within the US, and also study Arabic and Islamic studies abroad. Aliya believes that sincere concern for people is at the heart of why we serve and help. Being a means to help people establish a solid foundation in one of the most important decisions they will make in life, marriage, is something Aliya finds great honor and joy in doing!
